New Year, new SEO strategy! What you should be prioritizing in Atlanta

February 5, 2017

Now that the New Year is here, it is time to reflect and improve your existing SEO strategy and make your business flourish. Use the following tips from Atlanta specialists and truly celebrate 2014!

What is an SEO strategy?

SEO strategies involve processes by which websites and online businesses improve their page ranking and click-through rates when users use search engines. Before starting any business, it is important to have a solid SEO strategy that defines your goals and milestones. The definition, according to Webopedia, is “a methodology of strategies, techniques, and tactics used to increase the amount of visitors to a website by obtaining a high-ranking placement in the search results page of a search engine (SERP) — including Google, Bing, Yahoo, and other search engines.”

Tips to improve and prioritize your SEO strategy in the New Year

One of the first things you must do this New Year is to include more ‘rich snippets’ in your website content. This includes ratings, reviews and Google author information. Next, go back to the basics – recheck and improve your URL structure, content, descriptions, headlines, titles and the like. With the release of Hummingbird, original, fresh content is still the way to go. Develop and use a solid keyword tool and focus on solutions for users rather than the exact match of their search.

Also, as natural language search is gaining popularity among users, it is important for you to include long-tail keywords in your strategy. You can also use some of the online professional tools (such as Google Analytics, Ubersuggest etc.) that can help you identify the right long-tail keywords.

An excellent way to ensure your ranking on search engines is high to make use of ‘engagement objects’ that include audio, videos and other interactive elements. Thanks to Universal Search on Google, users can now view different media files when they search for something. Evaluating big competitor websites can also give you an idea of what works and what does not.

Next, ensure your website is user-friendly and engages visitors through comments, feedback and opinion posts. Your SEO strategy should include linking your website to social media platforms so users can easily ‘like’, share and tweet what they see on your website.

So, in the New Year, resolve to improve on your SEO strategy. Contact us in Atlanta today to find out more and what we can offer you.
